Our Approach to Occupational Therapy

OT is more than movement.

We create occupational therapy plans and experiences that target the whole person. We focus on social, physical, emotional, and environmental factors that can improve an adolescent’s life and abilities. If you notice your patient isn’t responding to treatment, Occupational Therapy could be a great choice!

Kids Therapy

We give children and teens practical ways to strengthen and improve their physical, social, sensory, coping, and self-care skills.

Motor Skills and Strength
We teach kids how to safely perform daily activities can help them live healthier lifestyles, including skills like gross fine motor, coordination, hand strength, handwriting, and other practical life skills.

Social and Emotional Skills
We help kids manage difficult emotions and age-appropriate social skills such as sharing, conflict resolution, and anger management.

Sensory Processing and Feeling Therapy
We create exercises and activities for children to learn how to process various sensory inputs (auditory, proprioceptive, vestibular, etc.) and how to modulate distressing input or decreased sensory registration. This includes teaching them how to learn to enjoy different food types!

Sibling Groups

Home based therapy allows us to observe our clients in their natural environment. We encourage siblings to work together to improve their communication skills as well as other physical and social skills.

Foster & Adoptive

We consider the environmental impacts foster and adoptive care have on growing children and adjust therapy plans and treatments based on our observations of the child in a natural environment.

Holistic Approach

We believe that trauma-informed and sensory processing evaluations are essential to our practice and use them as a routine part of our therapy. We also value the importance of including the child’s support systems such as family, siblings, caregivers, child-care workers, and teachers. We provide therapy in supportive environments, like in your home with the child’s supports, so we can all work together.
